Local funeral director
heads charity fundraising
In his role as President of the London Association
of Funeral Directors, local funeral director Robert
Lodge has led a fundraising appeal which has raised
£4,000 for his two nominated charities.
At a recent meeting of the LAFD Robert Lodge
presented cheques for £2000 to representatives
from The Princess Alice Hospice and SANDS (Stillbirth
and Neo-natal Death Society).
Commenting on his two years as President of the
LAFD Robert Lodge explained “It has been
a very hectic year involving a fair mount of travelling
whilst representing the London Association at
other regional meetings of the National Association
of Funeral Directors, held all around the country.
However, we have achieved a great deal for local
Funeral Directors as well as raising much needed
funds for these two very important charities”.
In addition to being President of the LAFD, Robert
Lodge is also Chairman of Lodge Brothers, the
local group of family owned funeral directors.
The company has been serving the local community
for over 220 years and has branches throughout
the local area, including J.Monk & Sons in
Woodbridge Road, Guildford.
