Local funeral directors changes hands

Edmund & Sons the local funeral directors in Walton Road, East Molesey, is now under new ownership.

The business was acquired by Lodge Brothers, the local group of family owned funeral directors, on Friday 28th April. Speaking about the acquisition of Edmund & Sons, Robert Lodge Chairman of Lodge Brothers said “As a locally based company with branches throughout the area, we are pleased to be able to offer our services to local families in East Molesey. We are delighted to have the opportunity of taking over the established business of Edmund & Sons and their family name will be retained within the trading title of the new business.”

Robert Lodge went on to say “Seven generations of the Lodge family have been helping and advising local families in their time of need. Unlike many local funeral directors formerly owned by local families, who have joined major national groups, we are proud to say that after 225 years our business remains wholly family owned.”

The new business name will be Lodge Brothers & Edmund & Sons and will be managed by Robert Lodge along with funeral arrangers Patricia Moller and Jean Guppy. Lodge Brothers now has a total of seventeen branches located throughout south west Middlesex and Surrey, including their funeral home in High Street, Thames Ditton which opened last year.
