Funeral Director Swims for Charity
Local funeral director Quentin Edgington, Manager of G.S. Keates in Hampton Hill recently completed a 5000 metre swim for the Swimathon charity at Hampton open air swimming pool. Quentin was joined on the swim by his wife Caroline who is the funeral arranger at G.S. Keates.
Talking about the charity swim Quentin explained “I have supported the Swimathon for several years and I swim at Hampton Pool several times a week. As well as keeping fit I was also able to raise over £300 pounds for the Swimathon Foundation and Marie Curie Cancer Care.
“Hampton is a fantastic pool, it is so much better to swim in a heated outdoor pool than an indoor pool. I strongly recommend it to everyone. I was very pleased with my time of two hours ten minutes for the 5000 metre swim. Not bad for a 47 year old!”
Lodge Brothers, the family owners of G.S. Keates which is the oldest established funeral directors in the Borough of Richmond, were one of the main sponsors and Director Beverley Lodge commented “We are delighted to be able to support Quentin and Swimathon, the largest sponsored charity swim in the world.”
